Who We Are

JuNoWriMo Founders

Anna Howard and Becca Campbell, two participants and huge fans of National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) got together in 2012 to form the fresh, summery, citrus-smelling event called JuNoWriMo. With the help of an amazing group of volunteers, JuNoWriMo has taken place each June since. Here’s a little more about this year’s crew.

The  2018 JuNoWriMo Crew

Sydney Aaliyah is a New Adult Contemporary Romance Writer, a voracious reader, and a movie fanatic who hails from Texas.

Raiscara Avalon is a lover of books and writes in as many genres as she can, as there are too many great stories to tell.

Jacy Braegan is an upcoming M/M romance author from Oklahoma who enjoys a little chaos with her order.

Shan Jeniah Burton is learning how to live as the surviving partner of a 20 year marriage and single parent of two teenaged homeschoolers. She looks back on cross-country travel and adventures with her late husband and best friend Jim, and forward to what lies in store for her and her family – but she strives to remain centered in the Right Now, which includes a newly rescued 2 year old pit bull named Noli, and a “Boxapitador” puppy named Smokey. Writing is her sane space amid the lovely chaos of a changing life.

An author and dabbler in all things creative, Becca J. Campbell loves thinking up stories about supernatural abilities, experimenting with painting techniques, portrait drawing in her sketchbook, and recycling stuff into cool products for her Etsy shop UpCycled Chic By Becca.

A WriMo veteran from of old, Courtney Cantrell wields vorpal unicorn-morph wordsmithying powers while keeping coffee and chocolate well within reach.

Foster Bridget Cassidy is a romance author (with some speculative fiction on the side), a dachshund mom, and a native Phoenician who likes to wear jackets in the summer.

Allie Friesen is a museum employee and freelancer who believes firmly in strong coffee, sad songs, and the idea that every story matters.

Rachel Kolodziej is a writer and wannabe billionaire who gets her sense of justice from Wonder Woman and her love of killing characters from Joss Whedon.

She’s given up on being the Nancy Drew or Amelia Earhart in this life, but Eden Mabee is still living a girl’s adventure tale daily in her fiction writing.

When she’s not writing, L.A. McGinnis is playing with fire and glass for her Etsy shop: Chestnut Ridge Designs.  She has published one paranormal romance book and also writes Urban Fantasy.

Margaret McNellis has recently earned a MA in English and Creative Writing, is working to her MFA in Fiction, and has been participating in novel-writing challenges since 2008.
